Experience
I'm a philosophy major at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. My studies focus heavily on the development of an equitable society and social justice for everyone. I tutor students of all ages and backgrounds in many of courses. I've learned that sometimes a student simply needs something explained in a different way for them to fully grasp the concept. I've spent time working with a variety of students in study groups as we worked to better understand a challenging philosophy topic. These discussion circles helped us all a great deal while developing my ideas on flexible and adaptable teaching styles. As a tutor, I believe it to be my job to get on the student's level. I strive to fit my teaching style to the student's capabilities, personality, and strengths. I work with student's to prepare them for the ACT, particularly in reading, science, and writing. I enjoy teaching English, philosophy, ethics, and writing college essays. I can help improve their editing skills or teach them important test-taking skills. Outside of tutoring, I spend a lot of my free time reading, both for class and fun. I enjoy self-education through exploration. I love to cook for friends, as well as sew.
