I attended both Marymount College and Wayne State University while working toward the degrees I needed to become a professional Psychologist. I have since retired from that career and am now working as a tutor. I retired three years ago, and since then, I have spent time helping the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts by acting as their information volunteer. As a tutor, I like working with both adults and children of all ages. I can tutor one-on-one or in small groups. I enjoy tutoring, because I find satisfaction in solving problems and learning. I also like the challenge of finding the easiest way to solve a problem, and I enjoy facing this challenge with my students. When I tutor, I first enjoy getting to know a student. I want to know what you enjoy in life, what you find exciting, what frustrates you, and what you fear. I then meet you where you currently are in the learning process and ask you for your current goals. I help create goals if you are unsure about what they should be. I then help you achieve the goals we set. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music (classical is my favorite), reading, and learning the Spanish language. I also enjoy helping care for my young grandson.
