I am an experienced teacher and tutor with a proven track record both inside and outside of the classroom. For more than a decade, I have taught American Literature, Technical Writing, and Composition to freshman and sophomore university students. I've also worked with English as a Second Language adult learners in the Pre-GED range. Those classes involved Conversation, Vocabulary, and Writing. Professionally, I have done a lot of work as a freelance journalist and marketing copywriter. Unlike many tutors who only have an academic background, I have real world experience. This allows me to advise students who may be considering writing as a career. Even for students who aren't interested in becoming professional writers, it can be beneficial to have a tutor with verified abilities in the chosen subject.I am also open to tutoring students who are preparing for the ACT and the GRE. Test-taking can be especially nerve-racking, and having an opportunity to practice with a strong tutor can make a big difference when it comes to results.In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and swimming.
