I have mentored college and highschool students for over ten years in both academic and creative writing categories. As a published author (most recent deal with Penguin Young Readers), I know how grueling the writing and publishing process can be, and I enjoy making the process clearer and easier for others who are just beginning the journey. I have a hands-on editing approach, regardless the subject, and prefer to go over line-edits in person to really discuss comments and suggestions in a way that is useful and positive. In addition to writing mentorship, I have a long history of community education, including over five years supervising youth groups at the Como Zoo & Conservatory and leading teen workshops with the Hennepin County Library system.
