Currently working as a freelance writer, covering political and environmental issues for a variety of news websites. Most recently worked as a staff writer for a local publication where I specialized in writing about the war on drugs, specifically marijuana legalization, criminal justice, education, the environment, whistleblowers and watchdog investigations. Until July 2014, I also worked as a columnist for Yahoo!'s contributor network where I shared humorous personal essays and my thoughts on a variety of issues on subjects ranging from politics to sex to college loans. I also wrote freelance pieces for community magazines owned by Tiger Oak Publications.
