Rachel W.
Private tutor in Minneapolis, MN
Education
University of Minnesota- Twin Cities campus, BA in English and French Studies (double major), GPA of 3.67, class of 2009.
Experience
I am currently a substitute teacher at a smaller, ESL predominate, K-8 charter school in Minneapolis. After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2009, I moved to Le Havre, France where I was an English language teaching assistant in two middle schools (collège). While in France, I did after-school tutoring in small groups and private lessons in my spare time. I also assist two of my cousins with their college-level papers; I focus on English grammar/mechanics and critical thinking on a variety of subject matter. I find great joy in helping others learn, express themselves, and achieve academically.

Hobbies
I live in Minnesota and I love the arts, what luck! I frequent our many theaters, museums, and concerts. I come from a close-knit blended family and enjoy spending time with my grandparents- especially out on the pontoon! I’m a huge ice hockey and winter sports fan. I am an avid reader; some of my favorite authors include Poe, Baudelaire, Mary Shelley, Toni Morrison, Kipling, and others. I enjoy writing essays and collecting vinyl records in my spare time. I'm a big time comedy fan (written, stand-up, all comedy really); it's always good to have a sense of humor!
