Experience
I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with my bachelor's degree in English. As an avid reader, I strive to pass my passion of reading on to my students, regardless of what level they are at. I have 15 years of experience as a language arts teacher, primarily for middle school students. I am excellent at finding a different perspective on a subject, allowing me to use a variety of approaches to explain the material I am teaching. Working with young children and adults is rewarding. I enjoy helping a student work towards their academic goals, whether they want to achieve a 4 on the SAT writing section or they seek to improve their ability to read fluently. I am a capable test prep instructor, able to review the material as thoroughly as necessary to ensure optimal comprehension. Through unique learning tools and personalized planning, I can help my students succeed in their education. When I'm not tutoring, I love spending time with my dog and family, as well as my friends. I ride my bike a lot. I direct a middle school theater group, as well as the occasional high school production. I am deeply passionate about the theatre and try to attend performances as frequently as possible.

Hobbies
In my free time I enjoy riding my bike and spending time with friends, family and my quirky dog, Miinan. I am the director of a middle school theater group as well as directing occasionally at the high school level and I love to get out and experience theater whenever possible. Music, both live performances and whatever is playing on my record player or in my ear buds, is also a huge part of my life.
