Education
I received my BA from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry, Neuroscience, and oddly enough Classical Studies. During my sophomore year, I was invited to be a Biology tutor and helped students comprehend and retain information from their microbiology, genetics, ecology, and introductory biology courses. As a senior graduate student, I helped train and tutor new students during laboratory rotations. I really embrace the challenge of identifying new ways to explain complex concepts. Biological principles are not always intuitive, so am all about seeking out resources and/or tools to help students appreciate how interesting DNA transcription (or other processes) can be. My day job is to explain how my company’s products work to users with a wide range of baseline knowledge. I have a ton of experience tailoring explanations to an individual, and am excited about the opportunity to continue to use those skills to help students meet their educational goals.
