I feel that a curious spirit is vital in order to achieve lifelong learning. It is my goal to help students to acquire this, to make them see the importance of curiosity and how it can affect their educational futures. I like to encourage students, to bolster their confidence in the subject at hand. I tailor my teaching techniques to what will work best for each student's personal learning needs. Though my educational background is primarily in engineering, I have always maintained a love of reading and writing, and I excel at teaching them. I am also able to teach test preparation, as advanced placement tests were commonplace for me in my own education. I can also aid in SAT prep as well as college classes. I have an engineering degree with a focus on materials science and a master's degree in sustainable technology that I earned in Sweden. My two years in Stockholm gave me the fantastic experience of working with students from around the world. When I'm not tutoring, I like to stay active with activities such as canoeing, dancing, biking, and hiking. Also, nurturing my curious spirit, I love to read.
