*Self-employed tutor for grade-school children in the summer months; tutor with the "Backpack Tutoring" volunteer program for inner-city students; volunteer tutor with the People Serving People Homeless Shelter in downtown Minneapolis; activities' coordinator for the Crisis Nursery in Golden Valley; volunteer with the Head Start Program in Northfield, MN, which involves work in early comprehensive child development for pre-kindergarten children. *ACT score: 30; International Baccalaureate Program: received a score of 6 on all of my IB exams including: IB Biology HL, IB French HL, IB History HL, IB English HL, IB Physics SL, IB Maths SL *I would love to continue my work tutoring students in a variety of academic fields. In college (where I spent my first two years at St. Olaf College and am now transferring to the U of M Twin Cities for my final year-and-a-half) I have pursued the pre-medical track, as well as decided to specialize in "French Studies" and "Environmental Science, Policy and Management." *I am a certified emergency medical technician and was the executive officer of the EMT organization at St. Olaf College, and plan to join the EMT organization at the U of M in Spring 2015. I have volunteered and interned in many areas of medicine. I interned with an anesthesiologist at the Maple Grove Ambulatory Center, and have worked with other physicians- like cardiologists, oncologists and orthopedic surgeons- at the Mayo Radiation Clinic and North Memorial Medical Center. I organized the cultural events of "La Maison Francaise" at St. Olaf College- a great opportunity for students interested in French language and culture to broaden their understandings!

Hobbies
I caught the travel bug at an early age, and have made it one of my greatest passions! My two favorite places I've experienced are Morocco (where I studied French language and Moroccan culture in the imperial city of Fes) and Australia (where I studied environmental science, policy and anthropology along Australia's east coast). I love reading (especially romantic novels) and baking (my specialties are classic blueberry English scones with clotted cream and strawberry rhubarb bars!). I love taking walks and roller-blading with my dog, and spending countless hours in bookstores! I'm such a bookworm :).
