ExperienceI BELIEVE we all have different learning styles, and that it’s important for me as a tutor to “speak the language or learning style” of the student. I have experience with this and always find a way for the student to connect with the material.
WHEN I WORK WITH A STUDENT, I put energy into nurturing their basic curiosity, and developing their ability to ask the right questions. I am enthusiastic about math and my students become enthusiastic too. I love to ask questions and my students become expert at asking questions too. I am goal oriented, and I help students reach their goals too.
I BELIEVE THAT MATH IS IMPORTANT to all students no matter where they go and what they do in life. It’s basic for other learning. If provides a rigorous intellectual framework. Math isn’t invincible. Everyone can learn it and do well with it. All that’s required is hard work and effort.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME? I love to teach, and I love math. So, I enjoy working with students and working with the math. More importantly, I enjoy watching the “light bulb” turn on when my students begin to understand. I receive personal satisfaction in watching students accomplish that was previously out of reach for them. Their victory becomes mine too.
